The Brown Emergency Training Center saw another record-breaking year with enrollments in all of the programs offered through the Center at an all-time high. If you are interested in a career in fire and rescue then you need to look no further than the Brown Emergency Training Center.
Here Are Just a Few Reasons Why:
Brown Emergency Training Center Firefighter Academy
June 16 – August 16, 2013
The academy is an intense nine-week training program designed to prepare individuals to become firefighters working in a municipal fire department. During the academy, students receive over 400 hours of instruction in areas that will allow them to become certified as Firefighter I and II and in hazardous materials. Instruction also covers rapid intervention team training, live fire scenarios, and physical training. The academy includes “mini-workshops” on resumes, interviewing, and advice from area fire chiefs. It is a grueling nine weeks, but provides a way for students with little or no firefighter training to be job ready quickly. The payoff is well worth the effort. Register today!
After the 9 week Firefighter Academy we also offer a 5 week EMT Basic and then a 4 week Technical Rescuer Academy. In 18 weeks the student will have all the major certifications required by almost all fire departments in the area.
Flashover Simulator
CCC’s Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Simulator continues to be a hot training commodity among firefighters all over the state of NC. Emergency Training Center Coordinator, Jimmy Hensley, says hands down the flashover simulator is the best way to observe fire behavior and events that leads up to a flashover phenomenon. “The great thing about the Flashover Simulator is that conditions can be created time and time again until your department feels confident in dealing with a flashover situation. We love taking the simulator out for training. It is such an important training tool because it offers a realistic crash condition with fire, smoke, and all the difficulties of removing injured passengers and crew from a downed aircraft.”
