Amy Davis

Amy Davis, Dean of Student Success, is the 2016 Outstanding Staff Member Award recipient.
“I am honored to be recognized by CCC for my commitment to our students, and for efforts of continuous improvements toward making CCC the best community college in North Carolina,” said Davis. “I have the privilege of working with an amazing and dedicated department of individuals in the Student Success Center. Getting to really know and understand our students, their needs and their goals, provides me with motivation to continue to create programming, services, and instruction for students that help them complete their degrees, diplomas, and certificates, as well as individual courses.”
Davis has worked at CCC for almost seven years. Before moving into her current position last year, Davis served as the Director of the Student Success Center, Title III Project Director, and Student Success Coordinator. She has also been teaching ACA/Academic support courses since 2009.
She earned an Educational Specialist degree in Adult and Community College Administration from Appalachian State University, a master’s degree in Adult Education from Florida State University, and a bachelor’s degree from High Point University. Davis is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Community College Executive Leadership from Wingate University.
Davis’ professional affiliations include NC SDAA/NC Student Development Administrators, NACADA/ National Academic Advising Association, League for Innovation in the Community College, NCTLA/ NC Tutoring & Learning Association, and CTPA/ College Transfer Professional Association. In addition, she is an Executive Board Member of Adventure House, and an active member of Crest Charger Horseshoe Club.
